There are two tasks you can perform with the free application from The Windows Club, PassBox. The first thing you can do with this application is securely store and manage passwords. And the second thing you can do with PassBox is generate secure passwords. So to sum it up, PassBox provides wonderful password management and password generating functionality for free.

PassBox works with Windows 7 as well as Windows 8, both 32 and 64-bit editions. The application is available as an installer (download the installer, run it, follow the instructions presented by a setup wizard) and as a portable version (download an archive, extract its contents, run the PassBox executable).

The first time you run PassBox, you will be invited to pick a password and enter an email address. The password will block access to PassBox and the email address will be used in case you forget your password.

The first thing you have to do is create a database. All the databases you create will be conveniently presented on the interface so you can open them.

After you open a database, you will be able to access all the application’s functionality: create and view a list of passwords, open web addresses, generate passwords, back up databases, restore databases, lock or exit PassBox.

As mentioned above, PassBox is a free application. You can use it to manage passwords and generate passwords without having to part with your hard earned money.

Securely store passwords, easily manage them, and conveniently generate passwords – you can do all these things with PassBox.

Pros

PassBox works with 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8. PassBox is available as an installer and as a portable version. Access to PassBox is password protected. You can easily add passwords to the database. Databases can be backed up. You can generate passwords. PassBox is free software.

Cons

When you launch PassBox, you have to enter the correct password in order to access the application. Enter the password, press Enter, and nothing happens. You have to click the Continue button, you can’t just move on by using the Enter button.
